Hey everyone as you can see; this is the movie review of the new hunger games movie that has recently released in cinemas. We were going to post this Thursday night, Friday at the latest but Josh (the new guy) was going to watch it Sunday, and in the end he didn't go. So please don't be mad we took so long for this review. Any way here you go.
For my friend Lizzy's birthday we'd thought we'd watch the Hunger Games as we all pretty excited for it to come out in the UK. But first as it was a school day, we obviously went to school first, but it was okay because at least we had something we looked forward too and it definitely lived up to our expectations.
Now if you have read the book, you should know how this will go, though they did alter a few things as most movies do, but it doesn't really effect the film greatly which is good.
As always, the book was better than the film, because it's written in greater detail; which is the brilliance of a book for any reader.
However in the world of films, it was a really amazing, major emotional roller-coaster, it brought tears to many of the audiences' eyes. It was very emotional, even at the beginning and all the action kicked in; sending the audience into turmoil. The picture quality was amazing as was the actors, no improvement needed.
The animation of the 'wedding dress', as well as the many others things that could be mentioned but I know I'll probably ruin something if I say more, I must warn you, look out for the jump scare monkeys.
Lizzy, which is me, thinks that the film was absolutely fantastic and it definitely lived up to the book. The actors Jena Malone and Sam Claflin that played Johanna and Finnick were magnificent, seeing as those two are my favourite chatacters, I'm definitely glad. Catching Fire had more of a serious tone than the last film, this film had be more emotional than I thought and I've READ THE BOOKS.
Now if your into evil capital x hero story lines. This is a definite, the twists and turns, cliff hangers and alternate future puts it in its very own category of its own with originality. I really recommend this film, even if you are 50/50 take the risk you won't regret it.
Forgive my late addition. This is that guy, Josh the editor that was previously mentioned by Aven. This is really overdue; but I feel that I must add my own opinion of the film here. So in the end, I got to watch it, and I can agree with both Lizzy and Aven; the film was god-damned fantastic! Everything they changed in the movie compared to the book, I feel; didn't miss anything important! Though it did miss a few scenes that built up to the end of the movie, but it was easily forgiven! Something I hadn't really realized until I watched the movie; is some of the advantages of doing so! When reading or watching something, your own opinion of things develop through-out it. I read all three books, then watched the movie. Something I never realized when I watched the film, was how it can give you a new perspective on things! I won't go into detail due to spoilers; but after watching the movie, I have a new perspective, and view on every character within it. Overall; it was a beautiful movie. If I didn't know what happens next, I'd be tearing my hair out with frustration.
